Your Plaything

Host: “Hello (smiles). How are you doin…” (train of thought interrupted by a down the nose stare and the rising of a hand gesture)

The guest shuffles forward and silently holds up the back of three fingers as he drops and slides jaw sideways inside closed lips.

Host: “There will be three people in your party?”

The guest does not change his expression. He drops his hand in an inward sweeping motion locking his elbow, points at the floor (for some reason) and puts hand in pocket, annoyed at the need to communicate but smugly satisfied with the title role of group leader as the other two file in behind him.

Host: “Right this way.” (smiles and bites tongue)

Just before the host turns to walk in front of them the guest straightens his head and winks over a smirk.

Guest: “Thanks, sweetheart.”

I believe what you meant was:

Guest uses words, you know, since it is a human being who has just addressed him, directly, after all..

Guest: “Hello. We have three, please.” (simple smile, that’s it).

Ah, there we go. Because:

Your smugness only proves you lack any respectable quality. The host is not impressed with you and she is not your plaything or your ‘sweetheart’. She is at work, on the clock, doing her job. You are a shuffling, hand-gesturing insult and your wink is nauseating.
